Privacy in the GP Technics Revit tool

Version 18 October 2026. Controller: GP Technics Luchtbehandeling B.V., the Netherlands. Contact for privacy questions and requests: Onno@gptechnics.nl.

Required for the tool

The tool uses the GP Technics API at www.gptechnics.nl over HTTPS. When connecting, it creates a random installation identity with protected access. For calculations it sends duct dimensions, air flow, air and medium conditions, fouling, selection limits, Revit version and plugin version. GP Technics stores the inputs, results, selection ID, timestamp and associated installation identity so that selections and PDFs can be retrieved again. PDF and model downloads are recorded on the server. A complete Revit model, drawings and full file paths are not sent to the API.

Connection and updates

An update check sends the plugin version, Revit version and normal network information such as IP address and timestamp to the server. Checks run in the background after you have read this notice. Downloads and server requests may also appear in hosting, security and website logs. New calculations and downloads require internet access; previously saved model data remains readable. Opening the Mollier diagram passes the selected air conditions to the GP Technics website through your browser.

Required security and misuse logging

This logging is part of the service and has no off switch. The tool sends events about installation, uninstallation, startup, opening, calculation and placement/update. These include an event ID, installation identity, timestamp, plugin and Revit versions and, where relevant, selection ID and article code. GP Technics uses these records to trace requests and changes, investigate unusual usage and establish misuse of the calculation service. Reporting is not anonymous: events can be linked to the same installation.

Project and user details

Records may also include the model filename without its path, project name, project number and Revit username when available in Revit. These details allow activity to be related to a project and user when investigating misuse. Use the tool only for projects whose details you are authorised to share as part of this service. Avoid unnecessary personal information in project names or model filenames.

Local storage and your choice to use the service

The notice is always available under Privacy and data. Continuing acknowledges that you have read it; GP Technics does not ask for consent as the legal basis for required logging. If you do not wish to share the required data, do not use the online calculation service. Connection tokens and any queued reports are protected per Windows account using Windows data protection. Reports are retried after a temporary connection failure. Preferences, model cache, downloaded files and selections remain on this computer after the plugin is uninstalled. You can delete the files under %LOCALAPPDATA%\GPTechnics\Revit yourself; doing so also removes local access to previous selections. Deleting local files does not delete server records.

Purposes, legal bases and recipients

GP Technics uses required data to deliver the requested calculation service and retrieve selections (performance of the service), and for security, misuse prevention, investigation of unusual usage and technical administration (GP Technics' legitimate interests in protecting the calculation service and establishing misuse). Authorised staff and hosting and IT providers may process data for these purposes. The API runs on Odoo.sh. The tool does not send this data to Autodesk; Autodesk's own privacy policy also applies when you use the Autodesk App Store. Contact us for details of providers, processing locations and any transfers outside the EEA; this notice does not promise that all processing takes place exclusively in the EEA.

Retention and your rights

Selections and installation records are kept to retain previous calculations, model references and support. No automatic deletion period is currently configured for server records and reporting. GP Technics assesses deletion requests against the purpose, technical dependencies and any legal retention duties. Email Onno@gptechnics.nl to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, or to object to processing based on legitimate interests. An objection to processing based on legitimate interests is assessed individually; the tool has no immediate off switch for this logging. Where possible include a selection ID to help find the data; never send connection tokens. You can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl). This tool does not make automated decisions about people with legal effects.
